Accounting Specialist

Nationwide distributor is looking for an Accounting Specialist.   This position will process vendor invoices against purchase orders, coordinate collection efforts on invoices, and review sales orders for billing.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES: 

• Receive and process vendor invoices on purchase orders, also ensuring the correct information is recorded on the sales order
• Research invoice issues timely with vendors
• Follow up and obtain copies of vendor credit memos pertaining to cost adjustments
• Adjust sales orders for partial receipts and other costing & billing issues
• Reconcile statements and research invoice issues timely with vendors
• Daily invoicing for shipped sales orders
• Contact a concentrated group of customers for outstanding accounts receivable payment statuses
• Attach BOLs to orders
• Communicate with the sales teams on a daily basis to resolve exceptions
• Assist in month-end closing while also coordinating billing efforts throughout the month

 Experience Required: 

2+ years of general ledger accounting or equivalent.

 Special Skills Required: 

JD Edwards or similar ERP system experience

Microsoft Office Proficiency

Well-Organized

Detail Oriented

Strong Communication Skills

Strong Time-Management Skills
